At Bay Creek, we have a special place in our hearts for the history that undergirds this unique town we love. You can see it throughout our community—in the names of streets and homes, in our gathering places… Did you know a rare photo of William L. Scott hangs in our own Coach House Tavern which is itself adorned with reclaimed lumber from Scott’s historic home? So who was William Scott, the man who once referred to Cape Charles as “the future city of the Peninsula?” And how did our beloved Cape Charles, once a rural seafood and agricultural region, arrive as the charming, iconic community it is today? One might say, it took the train.
