Surrounded By Water And 2.5-Mile Private Beach Edgewater Provides Beautiful Water
CAPE CHARLES, Va. – (November 2011) – Bayside Village, one of ten neighborhoods in Bay Creek, is showcasing its newest home, The Edgewater. The 3,000-square-foot home is located on the Chesapeake Bay and is considered a significant building block to the neighborhood’s phase one development in Cape Charles.
The Edgewater was developed by Bay Creek South as a speculative home. It is currently for sale, and the elegant interior finishes and furnishings are included. The architect is Jim Strickland with Historical Concepts in Peachtree, Georgia. The firm was awarded the 2010 Arthur Ross Award by the Institute of Classical Architecture & Classical America for “an impressive body of work across the Southeast that reveals the central role of contemporary classicism in architecture and town planning for the 21st century.” The builder is Jim Monaco from Monaco Homes in Virginia Beach. It is being marketed by Linda Buskey and Linda Bray with Prudential Towne Realty for $1.6 million.
“The Edgewater is a beautiful coastal style home that is perfectly situated on the Bay front lot,” says Richard Foster, Bay Creek’s developer. “We consider this home to be the cornerstone for the neighborhood and anticipate this will stimulate sales activity in Bayside Village.”
The spacious home has three bedrooms including a master suite with sleeping porch, dressing area and his and hers closets, and an office and mudroom. Custom features include hardwood floors on the first floor, granite counter tops and an 80-inch kitchen island with cooktop. A pass-through fireplace is shared by the kitchen and dining room. There is a separate two-car garage and bonus space that can be converted to living space depending on the new owner’s preference.
The coastal exterior consists of Nichiha, a cement fiber lap siding to withstand the weather. The exterior is complemented with a standing-seam metal roof, operable shutters and 12′ deep covered and screened porches on both levels comprising a total of 3,000 square feet of space. There are also exterior stairs to a guest suite with storage below.
The interior was designed by Nikki Schroeder of Best Nest Interiors in Cape Charles. Finishes include detailed horizontal butt board paneling and extensive use of transoms over doors for shared light.
Currently, Bayside Village has four homes, three of which are occupied. When phase one is complete, the neighborhood will have 135 homes.
