Greetings…Spring Is Here!
This e-mail message is the first of what will become more frequent communications between Bay Creek and our owners, members, employees and friends to share exciting updates about progress around the community.
Bayside Village Begins
By now, you may have heard that Bay Creek has begun work on Phase I of Bayside Village, the largest village planned for the property. The equipment tells the story if you've driven to Coach House Tavern and looked down the hill. Because of the scale of work and hazards, and to ensure your safety, we ask that you please do not venture down to the site. We will keep you updated on developments. Designed as a neo-traditional neighborhood, Bayside Village features architecture and street patterns reminiscent of intimate, picturesque coastal villages.
Phase I, which is scheduled for completion this summer, includes a beach-front community park, recreational beach, residential infrastructure, and landscaping that complements the natural setting along the Chesapeake Bay.
Bayside Village is another example of Bay Creek's commitment to thoughtful design and innovative planning. It will be distinguished by expansive views of the water, inviting neighborhood walks, gardens, and various activity areas.
For more information, please call 757.331.8756 or email Terry Paine, General Manager.
Birding Program Begins
Walking trails open this spring; Guided bird walks for owners, members, and residents
Nature is one of our most important offerings, and this winter Bay Creek created more than 2 miles of new peaceful, walking trails. Stay tuned for news of the official opening. The trails will be a great way to enjoy our wonderful natural setting with up close encounters with many species of birds, plants, and trees.
On March 14, Bay Creek held the first of a series of guided bird walks around the property. Starting at 8 a.m., the group of residents were rewarded with views and encounters with many species of birds including American Black Duck, Blue Jay, Bufflehead, Canada Geese, Dark-eyed Junco, Double-crested Cormorant, Eastern Bluebird, European Starling, Great Blue Heron, Herring Gull, Mallard, Mourning Dove, Northern Mockingbird, Red-breasted Merganser, Red-winged Blackbird, Song Sparrow, and Tundra Swan.
They were then surprised to see several deer swimming in the Bay!
The walks will last approximately one to two hours and will begin in the club house/pro shop parking lot. Participation is open to all Bay Creek residents, property owners and club members on a first-come, first-served basis. The next Bay Creek bird walk will be held on April 4th. Participation is limited to ten (10) people, so enter your name on the list by either registering at the membership office in the Golf Shop or by emailing tsaunders@baycreek.net
Please dress warmly and wear boots or water-resistant shoes. We walk on paths and paved surfaces, but there is always a chance of standing water or mud. Bring binoculars if you have them.
Fairways Condominiums Expanding
As a high value offering, Bay Creek continues to build out the Fairways Condominiums. The Fairways offer an easy, low maintenance and high quality lifestyle with great views of the golf courses and surrounding natural setting. If you haven't visited the village, you'll be impressed with all that is offered and the attention to detail that is a Baymark standard. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a viewing, please call 757.331.8740 or email Terry Paine, Fairways Management.
AQUA Reopens
Come experience the beautifully renovated space. Many enhancements have been added to make your experience relaxing and comfortable as you take in those amazing views. You'll enjoy a new menu with many of Chef Amy Brandt's signature dishes as well as more casual fare. As part of AQUA's development, Bay Creek is also pleased to announce the addition of the new Baymark Food & Beverage Director, Joe Hoggard, who has been instituting changes to provide excellent service and ensure consistent quality. You'll also see him periodically at Coach House Tavern.
Many of you may know Joe as the former owner of the famous Ship's Cabin restaurant in Norfolk. His commitment to quality and service also led him to open the new Ruth's Chris restaurant in Town Center. When you see Joe in the restaurant, he'll want to hear from you about your experience so he can maintain the best possible service. To learn more, call 757.331.8676 or email Joe Hoggard, Food & Beverage Director.
